DOCDAYS Productions is an independent media production company founded in 2011 with offices in Berlin and Cologne, Germany.
We are committed to developing and producing non-fiction, story-driven projects for the big screen, television, VoD and all other digital platforms. Our focus is on creative documentaries and specials from the fields of Human Interest, Social Issues, Current Affairs, Science and History.
Most of our projects are international co-productions – brought to life with public broadcasters, on-demand streaming services, distributors and film funds worldwide. In Germany, we work with ARD, ZDF, 3sat, ARTE and Deutsche Welle. In Europe we have the privilege to work with partners in almost all member states. Our films have been co-produced by broadcasters in both North America and Asia.
DOCDAYS received Germany’s prestigious Grimme Prize in 2017 for the production of “EBOLA: DEATH IN A VILLAGE” (Carl Gierstorfer, Director; Antje Boehmert, Producer). Our feature-length documentary and web series “REFUGEE 11” was awarded two European CIVIS Film Prizes in 2018. “MAWAH – WHEN EBOLA CAME TO OUR VILLAGE” won a Lovie Award in 2016 and was nominated for a Webby Award, as was our web-only narrative “WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE A PANDEMIC?”.
At DOCDAYS, we are constantly on the lookout for stories that “wow” our audiences and start a conversation. We believe that meticulous research is the driver for any visually convincing film. Our stories are as complex as they are touching, as controversial as universal.
Real Stories. True Entertainment.
